Do you ever look back at goals you've made and wonder why you didn't complete them? Did you attain them, or just let them fall by the wayside? A month ago I made a list of things I wanted to do in the near future. I looked back today and feel I've made decent progress:
a) Apply to Penn State's Masters in Project Management program/take advantage of SunTrust's tuition reimbursement program. [For those of you who sorta know me, I tried the whole Masters in Accounting thing and HATED IT. I now know that I HATE accouting. It took Grad School to tell me that. So here's a second go at it.]
^ Done and was ACCEPTED! Hooray!
b) Start going to church more. This means on Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings, and weeknights. Get involved. Meet people. Become a regular, not just a Christmas/Easter person.
c) Volunteer. Help others who need to be helped. Love thy neighbor.
^ Volunteering to tutor at the YWCA tonight!
d) Be an awesome mommy to my favorite pup, Roxy. Work on training her and breaking her bad habits.
^She's learned to go in her crate when we want and we're working on "shake" now!
e) Get on that German Rosetta Stone I keep saying I am going to start.
^ $475 later I bought all five levels of German and not just I have started it, but Boli and Josh have too!
f) Read books that move you personally. Like Tuesdays With Morrie. Life-altering books. Not just beach reading. The kind that make you want to be a better person. The kind that makes you appreciate your life and appreciate today. (I am taking suggestions on this one!!!!)
^ I read Eat, Pray, Love and Water for Elephants. They both kinda relate to my personal life right now and helped me smile about the future.
g) Start working out again. And stop eating my feelings. I'd much rather be an emotional runner than an emotional eater.
^Okay, so I haven't been running, but I HAVE been climbing and mountain biking and taking the dogs for long walks. E for effort on this one.
h) Make and STICK to a budget. Save money for 1) trip to Kilimanjaro and 2) grad school.
^ Budget thing I am still working on, but I did open a savings account for grad school AND another for Kilimanjaro! Woot woot!
i) Be grateful for the blessings I have in my life. Focus on the good and not the bad.
