I am the WORST so-called sponsored athlete in the world.
Why is that?
Because in the last ten weeks or so, I moved across the city into a townhouse with my sister, and I stopped working out. For a while there, I wasn't eating a whole lot and lost a whopping 25 lbs. It was most likely muscle that I lost, considering I went to the gym every day at lunch and now I go home and let my dog out of her crate to pee on my lunch breaks.
So, here it is, climbing season (sort of) and I am in terrible shape. I haven't done anything physical except walk my dog and move furniture in two months. This Thursday at the USNWC it will be the first RiverJam of the summer, where everyone climbs and brings thier dogs and has a jolly ol time. Except this Thursday I'm going to be hiding in the grass somewhere because I can barely climb a V1 at the present moment.
I suppose I have two choices: keep whining about how crap I've gotten at rock climbing, or get back into it and get in shape. Whining is sooo much easier. But le sigh, I will take the high road, and try and get back into climbing shape.
I was thinking of starting today. After all, it's on my list of to-do's for the month of May. I think I'll start with yoga tonight. Something easy :)
